Instant unstaking is now live on Sceptre for Flare!

You read that right: you can now unstake your FLR instantly on Sceptre for Flare. Here is everything you need to know about how we made your liquidity even more flexible.

How instant unstaking works on Sceptre for Flare

Typically, unstaking on the Flare network requires a 14.5-day cooldown. This isn’t an arbitrary rule we set; it’s how the native network functions.

Instant unstaking isn't a "magic formula"; it’s a strategic balance between user convenience and maximum yield. To make this work, we’ve implemented a 50M FLR buffer. Since this buffer represents a small fraction of Sceptre’s ~2.2B FLR total pool, the impact on our APY is negligible.

Whenever a user uses instant unstaking, the FLR they request comes out of the buffer. Conversely, whenever new FLR comes into the protocol, if the buffer isn’t at its maximum capacity, it will get filled before any FLR is added to the pool. As an example, if the buffer is at 45M (5M from its full capacity) and we claim 8M FLR in rewards, 5M are added to the buffer while the remaining 3M are added to the pool.

In order to prevent this mechanism from being abused by arbitrage traders at the expense of the Sceptre users, instant unstaking is subject to a 0.5% fee that goes directly into the pool, thus increasing the value of sFLR.

What happens when you instantly unstake?

Unlike regular unstaking, there is no waiting period and no 2-day claim window. Your wFLR is delivered immediately to your connected wallet at the current exchange rate (minus the 0.5% fee).
