Sceptre's turning 1 year old next month, and we're celebrating with a community contest! Until the June 4th FlareDrop, Sceptre users will be able to test their prediction skills to guess the next sFLR:FLR exchange rate for a chance to win 10,000 sFLR! Inspired by the classic TV contest, we're calling it "The Exchange Rate Is Right," and in this post, we'll tell you what you need to know to test your prediction skills and win big!
How can a user participate in “The exchange rate is right”?
To participate in "The Exchange Rate is Right", users meet 3 criteria:
They must be staked on Sceptre.
They must be members of the Sceptre Discord server.
They must submit a valid participation on the appropriately named #the-exchange-rate-is-right channel on Discord.
A valid participation is a message with the user’s guess for the sFLR:FLR exchange rate on June 4th following the FlareDrop. This message must be in a 5 decimals format (example, 1.23456). Users can edit their message as many times as they want until we close entries for the contest, which will be on June 4th at 12:00 UTC (2 hours before the FlareDrop). To ensure fairness, each participant is limited to one entry.
What's the process for picking the winner?
The winner is the participant with the closest guess to the sFLR:FLR exchange rate that doesn't exceed the actual value. Ties will result in an equal split of the prize among those with the closest guesses that don’t go over the value.
Will there be more prizes for other participants?
Yes! In addition to the winner, 5 contestants will be awarded 1.000 sFLR just for participating. These will be picked at random at the end of the contest
How will the prizes be distributed?
The winner will be announced and tagged on our Discord server by a member of our team, who will request contact from the winner (please remember the golden rule: we will never PM you first). To receive the prize, the winner must provide a wallet address for the transfer. This address will be verified for sFLR activity to confirm they were staked on Sceptre and to identify any potential fraudulent behavior, such as bot activity. If such activity is detected, the user will be disqualified, and an alternative winner will be selected, even if their prediction was not the nearest to the actual exchange rate.
The same process applies to the 5 winners of 1.000 FLR chosen at random.
What constitutes grounds for disqualification?
We want to make “The exchange rate is right” as fun and fair for our community so we have several rules in place to ensure that. Users will be immediately disqualified if:
They aren’t staked on Sceptre
They submit multiple entries on the Discord channel
They submit an entry in the wrong format (like missing a “.”, “,” or enough decimals in the exchange rate)
They submit anything other than an exchange rate in the contest channel - there are several channels for chatting, this is not one of them!
They create multiple accounts to participate in the contest
They create multiple wallets to participate in the contest
Disqualification is determined by our team and won’t be discussed. Disqualified users won’t be able to appeal the decision.
When does the contest start and when does it end?
“The exchange rate is right” kicks off today, May 13th, and ends on June 4th at 12:00 UTC (2 hours before the FlareDrop). The winner will be decided once the FlareDrop comes in and prizes will be distributed afterward.
We hope everyone enjoys "The Exchange Rate Is Right"! Good luck to all participants in guessing the next sFLR:FLR exchange rate!
